How do I turn an hourly rate into a yearly salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by your hours a week, then by 52. At £15 an hour and 37.5 hours that is £15 × 37.5 × 52 = £29,250. Going the other way, divide a yearly salary by your hours a week and by 52: £30,000 for 37.5 hours a week is £15.38 an hour.
What is my hourly pay after tax?
Your take-home pay for the year divided by the hours you are paid for. Income tax and National Insurance come off your pay as a whole, not hour by hour, so the after-tax rate depends on your total pay: the first £12,570 a year is tax-free, which is why someone on fewer hours keeps a bigger share of each hour.
What if I work part time?
